About

Jake Kobrin is a visionary painter, ritual tattoo artist, and author. His work brings together magick, myth, and the unseen, across canvas, skin, and the written word. He is a traveler, currently tattooing by appointment in Berkeley, California, and taking guest spots on the road.

The art

Jake paints visionary art: luminous, symbolic paintings that explore consciousness, spirits, and the hidden architecture of the self. He studied classical drawing and painting at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy, and at the Vienna Academy of Visionary Art, after earlier studies at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. His paintings, including Emanation, Crystal Skull, and Ego Death, are available as prints and canvases in the shop.

Tattooing

As a tattooist, Jake creates ritual tattoos, sigils, and sacred ornament, treating each piece as a working as much as an image. He is currently tattooing by appointment at Ritual Tattoo in Berkeley and travels for guest spots. Booking starts with a $300 deposit, which is applied toward the cost of the tattoo.

The books

Jake is the author of The Path Within: Ritual Magick and the Gateway to Self-Mastery (Crossed Crow Books, 2025), a practical guide to ritual magick, meditation, and divination, and The Seal upon the Heart (2026), a grimoire of love magic. A third book, The Living Sigil, is forthcoming from Crossed Crow Books.

Readings, teaching, and the Collective

Jake offers one on one astrology readings and tarot readings by video call, and coaching for magick and the creative life. He writes the Substack Writings From the Edge of the Known, hosts the Creativity and Consciousness podcast, speaks at events including Witchcon, and leads The Inner Arts Collective, his community for magick, art, astrology, and tarot.
